Scouts complete the Expedition Challenge

Date: 15th Feb 2022 Author: Katie Sturgess

6 Scouts from the 1st New Cross had a real adventure, completing the Expedition Challenge together. Starting from Edenbridge, they hiked to Hammerwood for an overnight hammock camp and dinner cooked on a Trangia, then the following day they hiked to Broadstone Warren. They navigated the route by map and compass and great teamwork.

It was the first taste of independence for them, and their leaders are very proud of how they rose to the challenge. They came back to the Scout group with newfound confidence, tales from the trail, and lots more skills and experience!

Well done Scouts!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
