A King’s Scout award for Roe

Date: 28th Jul 2024 Author: Katie Sturgess

Congratulations to Roe, Explorer Leader at Golden Hind ESU (aka Action Anne) for being awarded the King’s Scout award!

Roe has worked so hard for this award and for Scouting over the past few years. To name just a few things; a tough 4 day Expedition by Canoe, International Service Team at the World Scout Jamboree in Korea, gaining their Wood Badge, Nights Away permit and Canoe Activity Permit, AND being a fantastic role model, and adventure inspiration to our Explorers.

The King’s Scout Award is the top achievement for Explorer Scouts and Scout Network members and comprises a variety of activities to complete. Roe will also receive the opportunity to be presented with their award formally at Windsor Castle.

Well done Roe, and thank you for all that you do!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
