Remembrance Sunday – 11th November 2012

There was a good overall turnout of the Deptford Groups, 1st New Cross, 2nd Deptford, 32nd Deptford and Golden Hind ESU at this very important memorial event with well over 150 in attendance joined by friends and family.  The First New Cross and Golden Hind were well represented.  All were well turned out in uniform.  Nicolas Baudry laid a poppy wreath on behalf of the First New Cross Scout Group and Nancy Hammond  laid a poppy wreath on behalf of the Golden Hind Explorer Scout Unit. The County Commissioner, Paul O’Brien, sporting his kilt, was also in attendance, the first time that this ceremony had been graced by the CC.  The District Commissioner of Southwark, Liz Fricker, was also in attendance.  Following the ceremony, the County Commissioner awarded the County Commissioners Gold Award to Nicolas Baudry of First New Cross.
